Single purpose
Browser Secure has one purpose: let you lock your browser with a PIN so other people cannot see or use your tabs until you unlock it.
Data we collect
We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. Everything stays on your device inside Chrome, Brave, or Edge local extension storage.
- PIN: Stored only as a salted cryptographic hash (PBKDF2). Your PIN is never sent to any server.
- Settings: Auto-lock preferences and lock state are saved locally.
- Browsing: We do not log websites you visit for analytics or advertising.
Permissions (why they are needed)
- storage โ Save your PIN hash and settings on your device.
- tabs / windows / tabGroups โ Hide tabs and show the lock screen while locked.
- alarms โ Idle auto-lock timer.
- history / webNavigation โ Remove extension lock pages from browser history only.
- system.display โ Center the lock window on your screen.
Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L uses the browser's built-in commands API (no extra permission).
Third parties
No third-party analytics, ads, or remote code are used.
